5 Ways To Show Your Appreciation This Nurses Week

Nurses Week Appreciation

It goes without saying, that nurses are vital community leaders. They work in hospitals, health centers, schools, large corporations and nonprofit organizations. Here are at Crazy Compression, we believe that nurses should be celebrated as often as possible, but especially during Nurses Week. This year’s theme is “Nursing: the Balance of Mind, Body, and Spirit”. Here are 5 ways to show appreciation to your favorite nurse between May 6 and 12, 2017.

  • Give a donation
  • Every small donation helps and there are countless nurse-related charities that you can support. Here are just a few organizations that you could consider giving a one-time or a monthly recurring donation to:

  • Give a compliment
  • Don’t underestimate the power of your words. If there is a nurse who has helped you or a family member, send a handwritten thank you note to let them know how much their care meant to you or your loved one. You could even consider writing a letter of commendation to their employer. Or, give a social media shout out tagging your favorite nurse and using #HealthyNurse, #NursesWeek and #ScrubLife.
  •

  • Give a laugh
  • Consider giving your favorite nurse a gift that will keep him or her laughing in the months and years ahead. Think of a mug, syringe pens, a funny book or a cartoon-a-day calendar. These gifts will keep a smile on their faces during long shifts and many hours spent on their feet.
  •

  • Give a meal
  • Pick one day this Nurse’s Week to take a treat (think cookies, fruit or coffee) to your local hospital or doctor's office. Put it on your annual calendar to treat them each year. Just be sure to call ahead to make sure food donations are allowed. Alternatively, you could also give a gift card to a restaurant or take the nurse in your life out to lunch one afternoon.
  •

  • Give the gift of comfort
  • Nurses often spend all day on their feet. This can lead to swelling of the legs, varicose veins and/or soreness. Many of our customers are nurses because they find that compression garments help to promote blood circulation - and that helps with muscle recovery. Our Crazy Compression socks and sleeves are 15-20 mmHg because that gives the perfect amount of pressure you need to get the most out of compression. And even better, they come in a ton of fun colors and it's very easy to find the size to give to that special nurse. To sweeten the deal, use promo code SPRING40 for 40% off. Think about your friends, family members and neighbors. You might have some nurses close by who you can show appreciation this Nurses Week.
